Mahira Khan is a Pakistani actress and former VJ (video jockey) who has worked in several Pakistani television dramas and films. She was born on December 21, 1984, in Karachi, Pakistan. Mahira Khan started her career as a VJ in 2006, hosting a live show on MTV Pakistan. She gained popularity for her performance in the Pakistani television dramas "Humsafar" and "Shehr-e-Zaat," which aired in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Mahira Khan made her film debut in 2011 with the Pakistani movie "Bol." She also played the lead role in the movie "Bin Roye" in 2015. In 2017, she starred in the Bollywood movie "Raees" alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She was the first Pakistani actress to be cast in a Bollywood film in almost a decade.
Apart from acting, Mahira Khan is also known for her social activism and philanthropic work. She has been actively involved in campaigns to raise awareness about issues such as child labor, education, and breast cancer. In 2018, she was named as the first Pakistani goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
